Ashley Harrison
Personal Trainer, Lifestyle Coach
The Greek letter “Omega” represents the ultimate, full extent of any one measurable. Ashley Harrison is the living essence of the letter.
Born in Hamilton, Ontario, Ashley has spent her entire life in the Steel City. She attended St. Jerome’s Elementary School where she was an honour roll student as well as achieving several public speaking awards. As a student, Ashley has always been involved in extra curricular activities; sporting teams, cheerleading (high school and Hamilton Tiger-Cats), dance teams, theatrical plays and volunteerism make up her identity. She continued her reputation as a top achiever in academics as she sustained her honour roll ways while attending St. Thomas More Secondary School.
With a plethora of exceptional grades at her back, she advanced to Brock University where she studied Physical Education and Kinesiology. Ashley is now currently studying at Mohawk College in Health, Fitness and Wellness. Ashley’s continuing ambition plays a large part in her education. Her goals and objectives for school are to continue to grow and learn. Ashley is also certified as a Personal Trainer and CPR Certified. She believes that no matter how qualified she may be, there is always something more to learn and that somebody always has something to offer and teach.
Ashley has had a continuing love for volunteering with younger generations. Being around “youngsters”, as she calls children, is second nature to her. Ashley has worked at her aunt’s foster home with children that range from newborn to adolescent. This led her to volunteer with the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada organization. To this day she still keeps in touch with her “little sister”.
Learning to battle everyday odds and constant adversity, she has lived by the philosophy of going as far as ultimately possible. Ashley always stays open to possibilities and continues to strive for excellence. Television is no stranger to her. She has been the focus in commercials for such companies as Cadbury’s, Baskin Robbins and Sony. As much as she liked the media experience, her true passion lies in fitness. Ashley began fitness competitions at the age of 18 and has now participated in numerous competitive fitness events. She decided to start training to improve her dance skills and has become a fitness juggernaut. Since competing in her first fitness show, she has finished in at least the top ten in every competition she has attended. She competes in several shows a year and every year she places atop the rankings, standing eye to eye with the most elite and finest in the business. She continues to train and work hard year round and live out the true epitome of health and fitness.
Last year, 2008, Ashley Harrison hit her biggest milestone yet. She landed the cover of “Oxygen Magazine” January 2009 edition and was deemed “The Rising Star”, which then led into an 11 page workout spread in a subsequent issue. Later the same year, she was then a feature in the “Oxygen Magazine GLUTES Edition” and then had the privilege of being the woman to grace the month of February for the “Platinum SB 2009 Calendar.” Throughout her demanding schedule over the last year, Ashley also secured a sports supplement contract with MAGNUM Nutraceuticals, a custom suit designer contract with KHP Designs, and was the face of “Extreme Fitness”.
Though her schedule keeps her very busy, she has always found time for her family and friends. She believes they are responsible for shaping her into the person she is today. Ashley states “Despite the ups and downs, every experience has played a part that allowed me to grow and learn and become a better person than I was before. My family and friends have been there every step of the way and were all part of the process. They have made me who I am.” With all of her achievements, ambition and passion Ashley thrives to still accomplish more. And truly, Ashley is a person of ultimate energy and passion for others; she continues to pursue more for her own achievements and for the benefit of those around her.
Ashley Harrison is quick to mention, “When I set my mind to something, I go do it and don’t give up! If I want something, I work hard to attain it and don’t let anything stand in my way or get me down.”
