Laura graduated from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 2003 with an honours degree in Psychology. Following this she worked as a Mental Health Counsellor for the Canadian Mental Health Association of Chatham-Kent, Ontario. Always having an interest in fitness and exercise, she became actively involved with the YMCA of Chatham where she was an aerobics instructor. It was during this time that she became interested in Physiotherapy and actively pursued this field as a possible career choice. In 2005 she was accepted to McMaster University’s Master of Science of Physiotherapy program and subsequently graduated in 2007.

Since that time Laura has worked in both hospital and private orthopaedic physiotherapy settings. Her interests are in orthopaedics and neurology. Laura is actively pursuing her interest in orthopaedics by completing the manual therapy courses through the Orthopaedic division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. To date, Laura has completed Levels 1, 2 Upper and Lower, 3 Upper and Lower. Additionally, Laura has completed Level 1 Acupuncture with the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute (AFCI).

In her spare time, Laura enjoys running. She completed 2 half marathons last year with hopes of doing the same in the coming year. Other interests include singing, playing the piano, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
