Dr. Taia Spencer-Yap is a recent graduate of the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto. She is a certified Active Release Technique (ART) and Graston Technique provider. Taia spent six months of clinical internship training under a Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation specialist at St. John’s Rehabilitation Hospital. Most recently, she has practiced in Ireland providing Chiropractic care to a small coastal community. Before becoming licensed as a Chiropractor, Taia was employed as an assistant trainer for Speed Unlimited Sport-Specific Conditioning Services, where she ran programs for a variety of competitive athletes, including hockey players, football players, rowers and sprinters.

Taia’s number one hobby is running and working out. She does it for fitness, but also for the feeling you get after you’ve exhausted your body and sweated out your toxins. Her goal is to be in shape so she can continue to enjoy her other favorite sports like soccer and tennis. Taia previously competed as a track athlete in sprints and hurdles and was a medalist at the provincial level. More recently, she has given back to her community by coaching track at the high school level, both in her hometown of St. Catharines and in Toronto.

Taia is keen to help both those who are new to fitness as well as seasoned athletes. Whether it’s a new problem that is preventing you from getting the most out of your workouts, or an old injury that is holding you back, she is determined to identify the cause of your pain and treat it, with an aim to prevention. With her extensive background in athletics, and certifications in soft tissue and manipulative therapies, she has developed a skilled and effective approach to injury management.
